"That's just not good enough", the family's attorney, Carl C. La Mondue, said Friday after filing the suit. "They have dehumanized him and trivialized his life," he said. "We are standing up for who Mr. Knockett was." A settlement of $500,000 was won.

Marqui Clardy was sentanced to 5 life terms plus 53 years. His sentance was reduced to 33 years. His lawyer, Carl La Mondue said Clardy and his family were "relieved he would have a chance of a life outside of prison" once his term has been served.

Owners of the Granby Theater Setttled a
Shooting Suit for $1 million.
The family of Thomas Holmes, a Norfolk man who was shot by Joseph Reid inside the Granby theater during a concert, reached a settlement in a suit against the theater and its owner, Bobby Wright. Holmes was shot several times and held on for two years in a vegetative state before dying.

Charges Dropped Against Man in Hampton Murder Case
A murder case was dropped against a Hampton man charged with the shooting death of a 19-year-old Kecoughtan High School graduate. Charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence when a material witness recanted her testimony.
"It was what we expected all along," said Carl C. La Mondue, Holmes' defense attorney. "There was simply no evidence that Mr. Holmes was ever a part of anything to do with Mr. Tromly's death. Chavis, a federal inmate, serving a 15-year drug sentence, told authorities Holmes had confessed to him. Under federal law, inmates can get their sentences reduced if they provide truthful testimony in other cases.
"He was heavily motivated to say anything about anyone," La Mondue said about Chavis.

Donnell Earl Woraley died due to injuries two months after being hit by a speeding police car with lights and sirens off. He was run over on his bicycle and dragged 60 feet. His mother said she still feels the pain of sitting in the courtroom and seeing the officer's charges reduced to reckless driving.
